QUESTnet Leadership Development Program
The QUESTnet Leadership Development Program got underway on Monday 5th October at QUT. Deputy Chair, QUESTnet -Maureen Klinkert - who is also Director IT Services at the University of the Sunshine Coast, officially opened the Program.
Sixteen participants from QUESTnet member organisations and AARNet commenced an 8-month program aimed at developing their leadership skills. The program will be facilitated by paceLEARNING Pty Ltd and hosted and coordinated by QUT.
The program involves a mix of classroom delivery, action plans, group interactions, one-on-one coaching sessions and tries to involve the participants' managers. Videoconferencing will be used in some parts to minimize the travel required of regional attendees.

QUESTnet Workshop at USQ
A successful workshop on Networking for Virtualised Environments was hosted by the University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba on 9-10 November 2009. Members who attended shared information and experiences on deploying and managing networks in virtualised environments.
They also heard the vendor perspective from Cisco and VMware. Richard Young from USQ outlined the rationale for the university implementing a new modular data centre which challenged traditional approaches. This was followed by a tour of the data centre which proved to be very interesting.
